Junior Sanchez Feat. Karmen “I Believe In” (Swanky Tunes Remix)...

Today’s Song of the Day comes from Junior Sanchez, a New York based DJ/Producer who has remixed tracks for Madonna, Gorrilaz,Daft Punk, Placebo, Shakira, and Róisín Murphy, to name a few. Today’s Song is a full-on House Music anthem with a little added Latin flavor, booming beats, and sweeping vocals. This remix makes this song a perfect marriage of East meets West as Swanky Tunes are Russian electronic group with a penchant for big beats and dramatic presentation. The remix works and it works well, I am tapping the keys with the beat as I type this and I can only imagine the amount of heat this song will create on the dance floor. Take a listen and if you like it… You know the drill! Thanks for reading and have a great day! I Believe In (Swanky Tunes Remix) – I Believe In (Remixes) [feat....

Lissat & Voltaxx “The Walk”...

The Song of the Day is from veteran German music producers Jens Lissat and Marco Wolter who perform as Lissat & Voltaxx. The duo left a huge imprint on the dance music scene with their 2008 track “Release Yourself”. Now the duo are back with their new dance floor banger “The Walk”. This is definitely one you will be hearing on your next night out and you can tell your friends your heard it here first (please). Enjoy! The Walk (Original Mix) – Single – Lissat &...

Erick Morillo & Eddie Thoneick feat. Shawnee Taylor “Stronger”...

Today I am bringing you a special Song of the Day, just because. The song is “Stronger” from Erick Morillo & Eddie Thoneick who teamed up with singer Shawnee Taylor last year on the epic House Music track “Live Your Life”. Now all three are back with another feel-good anthem and just in a nick of time because we can sure use some feeling good these days. Take a listen, a few deep breaths and keep pushing. Thanks for reading and have a great day! Stronger (feat. Shawnee Taylor) – Single – Eddie Thoneick & Erick...

Ellie Goulding “Lights” (Bassnectar Remix)...

Today’s Song of the Day is a real treat, it’s like a musical Reece’s peanut butter cup and these two taste go oh so great together. The song “Lights” is the title track from English singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding’s “Lights” album. The original version is an upbeat little dance number showcasing Goulding’s love for electronic music (check it out HERE). Now enter Bassnectar with an advanced/bootlegged remix of “Lights” which adds a much darker tone to the song but keeps Goulding’s vocal front and center. We have heard this type of sound from Bassnectar before with several of his other tracks most notably “Magical World” which is his remix of Nelle Furtado’s “Turn Out The Lights”. Here that same formula of delicate female vocals over dark synths and booming percussion is perfected. This song absolutely begs to be blared in your car! While this might have had a bootleg start it has clearly been embraced by Goulding and is featured on Bassnectar’s new album “Divergent Spectrum”. Check out the video and please leave a comment if you like the song. Wanna add it to your playlist? Click the iTunes and Amazon links below… Easy! Lights (Bassnectar Remix) – Divergent...

Ferry Corsten “Check It Out”...

Today’s Song of the Day is from Dutch Trance producer Ferry Corsten. Corsten is a veteran artist in the dance music scene having launched his career in the early ’90s under one of his many alias, Ferr. Now Corsten enjoys a worldwide following through his many performances and his widely popular radio show, Corsten’s Countdown. Now the versatile producer is set to release his next studio album in 2011 and the second advanced single is “Check It Out”. The song is straight on club anthem and has been receiving lots of club play. Give the tune a listen and if you like it add it to your playlist! Thanks for checking us out! Check It Out – Single – Ferry...

Mord Fustang “Lick The Rainbow”...

You know, 2011 is going to go down as the year a new generation of Electronic Dance Music talent arose to the surface. We have featured many of these freshmen in this very blog including Zedd, Mustard Pimp, and Arty. Now it’s time for me to share with you my favorite of the new recruits, Mord Fustang. Mord Fustang is a 20 year old Producer/DJ hailing from Estonia (go figure?) and he has quickly moved up the ranks with several high profile releases on the Plasmapool label ( check out his Soundcloud account HERE). He popped on to my radar when I heard a preview of “Lick The Rainbow” a few months ago. I was immediately struck with how easily he merged Electro House with Dubstep in a way that keep the aggressiveness and dance-ability of both genres intact. This is the sound of NOW to be certain and Mord Fustang has tapped into it almost effortlessly. Take a listen to the track and add it to your playlist today, thanks for reading! Lick The Rainbow – Single – Mord...

Song of the Day: Amy Winehouse “Back to Black”...

The music world lost another voice yesterday with the sudden passing of Amy Winehouse (she was 27). In a world full of over produced, auto-tuned pop stars Winehouse stood out with her unique and soulful vocals. Today’s special Song of the Day is my favorite Winehouse song and I think an appropriate tribute to her musical career. “Back to Black” is the title track from her most popular and (possibly) final studio album. The song is a tip of the hat to many of the girl groups of the 1950s and Winehouse works magic over the tune with a voice so powerful it almost has a bit of a growl to it. To me this song is such a great example of why with such a brief career she captivated fans across the world. Check out the video and please add a comment if you were a fan of Amy Winehouse’s music.
