Folks I can’t tell you how hot of a track this is! It combines two amazing acts into one Massive Attack and Bassnectar. The song being reinvigorated is “Risingson” from the classic Massive attack album “Mezzanine” . I have covered Bassnector’s genius on the blog before but this song in particular deserved mention. Every once and a while the little guy comes up with a big win. It happens in sports all the time so why not music? Well a few months back that’s exactly what happened when Mexico City DJ Producer Keemerah became one ofthe winners of the Beatport and Tiësto remix contest. The remix was for Tiësto’s “Knock You Out” which featured vocals from Emily Gaines. Since winning the contest Keemerah has released a slew of remixes and is soon to release a solo EP. Song of the Day: Samantha James – Waves of Change (Kaskade Remix)

In 2007 singer Samantha James burst on to the dance music scene with her hit album “Rise”. The title track actually made it to number one on the Billboard Dance Charts. Well a full three years later she has returned with a new album “Subconscious” released this week on iTunes (more info about the new album here). The first single off the album is the track “Waves of Change” which is a melodic mid tempo track that showcases Jame’s airy soothing vocals. the Kaskade remix is a perfect fit for this song because it play well to his strengths as a producer. Summer is definitely here and you can tell by just taking a listen to the radio or your favorite dance spot because everyone is rolling out what they hope will be the song that defines the season. One contender recently let out of the gate is the latest from Italian producer and Electro house DJ Benny Benassi. If the name sounds familiar it’s probably because you remember his oh so classic 2003 release “Satisfaction” (check it out here). Benassi’s soon to be new released album is definitely eagerly awaited and if the first single “Spaceship” is any indication of what he has in store, watch out! This might be the year Benassi goes massive! Today I am going to focus on one of the many great remixes of “Spaceship” the sublime EDX Dubai Skyline Remix which masterfully smooths out the harder edges to create a more mellow vocal based version of the track. I really, really like this and it’s a good choice for something more upbeat during those rough commutes. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Song of the Day: Deadmau5 “Some Chords”

Well now it’s been a while since we have heard the blips and burps of Deadmau5 but the dead one has returned with a possible glimpse of the future with “Some Chords”. There is definitely more of an electro feel to “Some Chords” and it has an edge reminiscent of Deadmau’s earlier albums like “At Play” or even “Vexillology”. I really like it and if you haven’t heard this one banging at a club near you, you will soon. Take a listen!

Song of the Day : Justin Bieber vs. MSTRKRFT “Heartbreaker Baby” (CJ Milli Mix)

I know you’re probably thinking I have finally gone of my rocker… Justin Bieber? Yes, Justin Bieber is in the Song of the Day because of one talented young lady, CJ Mili. With this track CJ Mili has managed to blend Beiber’s over produced vocals on “Baby” with MSTRKRFT’s gritty low tech sound on “Heartbreaker” . The result is an all too pleasing mix that I have to admit I have listened to repeatedly over the last couple of weeks. One look at CJ Mili’s Myspace and it becomes apparent that she is definitely a talent to watch and it’s kind of surprising that she has no label released tracks. Hopefully that will change very soon.
