HOME No More!
August 22, 2010 in Scene STL News by SceneSTL

Home Nightclub the popular St. Charles spot located in the Ameristar Casino has closed it doors for good after it closed for the night Saturday August 22. The closing came as a surprise and many were and are still in shock. Home Nightclub opened it’s doors back in December 2007 and it was popular right from the start with it’s celebrity appearances and music performances. A diverse group of musical artists including Tiesto, Benny Benassi, Pitbull, David Guetta, Common, Nelly, Lil’ Kim, and even Jersey Shore’s DJ Pauly D have played (and packed) the club.
Most recently HOME had unfortunately lost many of it’s earlier fans. They moved on to other venues leaving a sometimes less mannered crowd to follow them. Even with that being said, the staff at HOME was always consistently professional and courteous no matter what crowd was there. HOME will be missed on the SCENE and we wish every one that worked there good luck.
Update: Here is a quote from one of the employees taken from the HOME Nightclub Facebook Page:
“Nobody was shot. Nothing bad happened. The club has never lost money. Ameristar just decided the night club was not in their best interest. We are officially closed. To the best of my knowledge, they are going to continue to use the space for private parties and special events. Sucks that it is such short notice, but Ameristar offered to keep each of us employed somewhere else in the Casino.”

This is definitely a bit of a bummer… It’s sad to see upscale places not do well.
Quite the blow for all who enjoyed Home and made the last three years possible. Im sure the economy took a bite out of their attendance, but with the acts they were pulling in i thought they would prevail. Sorry to hear it. Best of luck to all who worked at Home.
WOW! That’s too bad. I have enjoyed many good times there and I am sad to see it close.
“…the staff at HOME was always consistently professional and courteous no matter what crowd was there.”
Thank you for recognizing our staff! I will miss my fellow staffers at HOME Nightclub, as well as fellow Ameristar employees if I do not remain employed with them.
I had an extraordinary time in my role at HOME Nightclub as Marketing & Promotions Coordinator, meeting celebrities, performers, and interesting guests. Ameristar has been a blessing to me and I hope to remain employed with them, transitioning into a new role and advancing my career, whether here or at another Ameristar property. I can’t say enough about how much this experience has made me grow as a person and manager!
We will all be fine…one door closes and another one opens. I’m very spiritual and believe there is a positive reason this happened, but more than anything, I’m very sad to part ways with such an incredible staff & cool patrons at HOME Nightclub.

Julie you have an excellent attitude and spirit and we are sure things will be fine for you and the rest of the staff at HOME in the days ahead. Thanks for your comment.
That was my quote off of the HOME Nightclub’s Facebook page. People are already spreading rumors about someone being shot and HOME Nightclub losing tons of money….
3 years is pretty good for any club in the St. Louis/St. Charles area. You can’t be the best forever. I’m gonna miss my HOME family. I’ve been working there for 2 years and it sucks we are done. Thanks for the support.
Steven thanks for commenting. You and Julie have a lot to feel proud about HOME was definitely a premier nightclub experience in the St. Louis area. It is a loss for us all.
