Dirty Vegas broke up in 2005 after touring no-stop following the release of their first two albums 2002′s “Dirty Vegas” and “One” in 2004. The group reunited in 2009 and has returned to their dance music roots with their their album “Electric Love” which was released late last month.

The first track on the album is “Little White Doves”, an instant dance/synth-pop classic. Take a listen to the song and sample “Electric Love”, we bet you’ll be adding it to your collection. In addition be on the look out for the remixes due to hit later this month. Thanks for reading/listening!

Owl City is the brainchild of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adam Young. He achieved initial notoriety through achieving “viral popularity” on MySpace before signing with Universal Republic in 2008. His 2009 debut album “Ocean Eyes” launched Owl City into the mainstream on the strength of the mega-hit “Fireflies”. Now in 2011 Owl City is back with his sophomore album “All Things Bright and Beautiful”. Released today it’s 14 plus tracks are all going to be familiar to Owl City fans as he stays true to the same upbeat, positive tone of “Ocean Eyes”. The first song of “All Things Bright and Beautiful” is the track “The Real World” and to describe a bit more about it let’s hear from the man himself. Song of the Day: Alex Gaudino feat. Kelly Rowland “What A Feeling”

June 13, 2011 in Music, Song of the Day by SceneSTL

Today’s Song of the Day comes from Alessandro Gaudino an Italian DJ, whose music generally fits into the House Music category. For today’s song Gaudino has teamed up with former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland. Rowland found a new musical identity within the Dance Music genre after her pairing with David Guetta on the Grammy Award winning 2009 track “When Love Takes Over”. Fast forward to today and Rowland’s vocals sound even more at home with a four on the floor beat. Please take a listen and leave a comment if you like the track.

Song of the Day: Benny Benassi feat. T-Pain “Electroman”

June 10, 2011 in Music, Song of the Day by SceneSTL

Today’s Song of the Day is not really just about the song but more about the (brand new) album “Electroman”. “Electroman” is the fifth album from Italian DJ and producer Benny Benassi. Benassi is no stranger to this site, we have featured his work over the years and with that being said if you only buy a few full length albums a year, you must add “Electroman” to your collection! The fourteen (14) plus tracks contain several singles Benassi has released over the last year or so including the hits “Spaceship” and “Beautiful People”.

This album marks a significant point in time for Electronic Dance Music (EDM), it’s the point to where it transitioned to the mainstream. While the list of guest vocalists on “Electroman” are impressive, none of them overwhelm Benassi’s trademark thump. That’s an important note because this is not a “sellout” album in the slightest, if anything it is clear Pop Music has bowed down to Electronic Dance Music in a major way. The title track is a perfect example of this because while T-Pain’s voice is instantly recognizable so is the fact that it’s a Benassi song. Check it out and please feel free to add a comment.
